Daedong Mobility held an event to experience Chair Robot at the Daegu Museum of Art

Daedong Mobility is hosting an event with "Smart Chair Robot" at the Daegu Museum of Art, where visitors can experience art on self-driving robots until October 6th.

This event features two docent chair robots equipped with autonomous driving and remote control functions. Visitors can board the chair, designate an artwork, and experience an optimized route while receiving explanations via voice and screen.

The chair robot navigates autonomously, utilizing LiDAR and cameras to detect obstacles and ensuring a safe viewing experience. Additionally, the chair can accommodate groups and provides access to convenience facilities within the museum.

Equipped with centralized control, these second-generation chair robots support a maximum weight of 130kg, drive at speeds of up to 2km/h autonomously, and can be manually controlled at a speed of 10km/h through an app.

Daedong Mobility foresees the demand for these robots in commercial, cultural, medical, and airport settings, catering to various needs such as facility information and customer-oriented services for the socially disadvantaged.

These versatile robots have applications in shopping centers, theme parks, hospitals, and airports, offering services like inter-store movement guidance, travel assistance, medical schedules, and real-time airport information.

Park Cheon-il, head of Daedong Mobility's LM (Last Mile Mobility) Business Division, expressed the company's commitment to developing mobility products for a happier everyday life and invited people to participate in the event.

Furthermore, Daedong Mobility was selected by the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency to lead the "Demand Customized Service Robot Development and Distribution Project" in 2022. The company collaborated with Daegu City and Daegu Museum of Art to provide a viewing experience for mobile disadvantaged individuals during the event, showcasing the exhibition "Not Painting."
This event at the Daegu Museum of Art will run from September 21st to October 6th, offering visitors a unique and interactive way to explore artworks through the docent chair robots.
